ROMEO AND JULIET – WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
(Classical staging)
A story made for the stage.

The story of Romeo and his Juliet.
The world’s best-known love story returns in a spectacular production directed by Toma Enache. He reunites with the artistic team and producer behind the audience favourite A Lost Letter.

The most ambitious project yet from director Toma Enache and producer Pepino Popescu brings the power of classical theatre to the stage in a visually striking production.

With eight projection screens and three video projectors, the stage becomes a living world. Verona and the paths of the two lovers come to life before your eyes.

Theatre and film come together: the emotion is experienced live, while the images have a cinematic scale.

A message from the director
Director Toma Enache says:
“Through this play, Shakespeare was speaking to us as far back as 1594–1595 about love — the very love we still need today to end the long-standing hatred between feuding families.

Romeo and Juliet is an exercise in softening hearts:
the hearts of those who have loved,
those who love,
and those who are waiting to love.”
