#BeautifulMay. What we can do in May - from running competitions to concerts and fairs
Summer is getting closer and events are starting to become more and more frequent, and that can only make us happy. We have a month full of fairs, concerts, competitions, exhibitions, even a cross-country race, but also the reconstruction of an important historical event.
What all this is about, we will tell you below!
We start with a special cross-country race, dedicated to one of Craiova Maxima's artisans, Corneliu Andrei Stroe. It will take place on Saturday, May 6th, in the "Nicolae Romanescu" Park, and registrations can be made until May 4th. There are five race categories you can sign up for, namely Fun, Family, Students or Kids (two age categories). Attention, there are also many prizes up for grabs! May 9th is an important date that could not be overlooked! Thus, the Calafat Local Action Group, supported by the Dolj County Council, organizes the event "Commemoration of Romania's State Independence", through a high-profile demonstration that will remind of the War of Independence from 1877-1878, whose first salvos were started from Calafat, Dolj.
The twelfth edition of the Regional Photography Salon for High School Students "Oltenia in Images", the continuation of the Municipal Photography Salon "Craiova in Images", will have its opening on May 12. The contest is dedicated to students from IX-XII grades in Oltenia, and registrations are still open until May 8th. Everything you need to know can be found on the main page of the event.
Rock and metal music lovers are invited to two evenings dedicated to them, at the second edition of the Vast Plains and Goats Fest. It takes place on May 12 and 13, in the backstage of the Student Culture Center in Craiova. Bands from Romania, Greece, Serbia and Italy will take the stage to offer you a unique experience! What is not necessary for one, could be vital or at least useful for another. This is the principle followed by those from Sunday Funday who are organizing a new Yard Sale at Biergarten Craiova, on May 13 and 14. Last but not least, the people of Craiova will have a unique competition! The first edition of the International Drums Contest is scheduled for May 13th, at the "Oltenia" Philharmonic in Craiova, so that those most skilled in handling drums and sticks can show what they know best.
