The end of summer and the beginning of autumn come to Craiova with many surprises and activities for all tastes. If you still don't know what to do during the mentioned periods, we have been looking for some suggestions for you that will surely take you out of the house.
„Maria Tănase” National Festival-Contest
A festival with tradition, organized by the Dolj County Council and the Dolj County Center for the Promotion and Conservation of Traditional Culture, it will take place between 6 and 10 September. Its goal is to find voices that will carry on the incredible legacy of the master bird of Romanian music, Maria Tănase.
Summer season of the National Theater "Marin Sorescu"
The season starts on August 18 and will end on September 12, and theater lovers will be able to enjoy plays both in the "Amza Pellea" Hall and in the garden located between the theater and the university. There will be 14 outdoor performances and 2 in the hall, so you have a choice of what you prefer to see.
International Sculpture Symposium "Brancusi Roads"
This time, the symposium, organized by the House of Culture "Traian Demetrescu", will have two sections, one of stone sculpture and another of wood sculpture. The works of art will be, as usual, located in Craiova; the stone ones in the roundabouts, and the wooden ones, in the Botanical Garden. It is interesting that you can see the sculptors at work in the Youth Park, until the beginning of September.
Puppets Occupy Street Festival - Dystopia
The already famous festival from Craiova comes with a return edition after the pandemic, Dystopia, reminding us of a universe in which we would like to live, far from the current problems. As usual, the festival will take over the whole city, and activities will take place in all areas, between August 25 and September 1.
Street Delivery Craiova - Leapșa
The urban manifesto Street Delivery has, this year, the theme of the game and, as before, the rendering of the city to the people. The organizers propose us to play, to remember childhood and, at the same time, they want to revive areas of the city through unique events. When? Between September 3 and 5.
