#SummerEnding. Events to see and places to try in August
The last month of summer is already here and there is no shortage of events and places that can offer you pleasant experiences – and not just in summer, but all year round.
From sports competitions to theater for all tastes, festivals and adrenaline-filled venues, we think you'll find something that sounds good to you from our proposed list below.
FIBA U20 Women's European Championship – Division B – 28 July – 6 August
The end of July and the beginning of August - more precisely, until August 6 - turns Craiova and the commune of Ișalnița into the host of the continental youth competitions - FIBA U20 Women's European Championship, Division B. The matches will be held in the Multipurpose Hall in Craiova and in the Sports Hall from Ișalnita. You can find the full program of the event and the times of the matches from the link below.
Table Tennis Craiova
Even though the weather is more than generous for outdoor outings, maybe some of you prefer indoor activities. We thought we'd suggest a visit to Table Tennis Craiova, where you can enjoy a table tennis match with friends, out of the sun, away from the heat and hustle and bustle.
The Situation – Fado Pub – August 9th
An original theater show awaits you on August 9, at Fado Pub. Based on texts written by Tudor Mușatescu, with a cast of young actors, we are sure that the event will be a moment of relaxation and an excellent opportunity to socialize.
Basecamp – Youth Park
If you still want to experience some real outdoor physical activity, we suggest you go to the Youth Park in Craiova and train your mind and body on the Basecamp trail, a project funded through the FORD Resource and Engagement Center – CRAFord. The trail is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Festival of Light - "Nicolae Romanescu" Park - August 26
The Scouts of Romania invite you to the already traditional Festival of Light, which will take place in the "Nicolae Romanescu" Park, in the Fanfare Pavilion area. There will be interactive workshops, acoustic music sessions, improvisation shows, fire jugglers and many other surprises prepared by the organizers.
Azil Escape House
A proper summer can't be complete without a visit to the Azil Escape House, where you can put your survival instincts to the test. We believe that an escape room game can be the anti-boredom solution and really great fun for you and your gang!
Puppets Occupy Street – Fantasy Edition – August 25-28
The animation festival that put Craiova on the world map of puppet theatre, Puppets Occupy Street, returns this year, with an edition - it's true, shorter - but at least as charming as the others. Workshops, plays, concerts or the parade of giant dolls are just some of the events you will enjoy at the end of August.
