550 years of history in Bănie! Craiova Days 2025, a grand celebration
2025 is the year in which the municipality of Craiova celebrates 550 years of documentary attestation, so the reason for joy is even greater! On this occasion, Craiova Days will mean more than ever: four days of events, full of memorable surprises, alongside the most fashionable artists of the moment, Andra, Delia, Zdob și Zdub, Subcarpați and Lidia Buble!
Everything will take place between May 29 and June 1, and the entire community is welcome to enjoy and celebrate the history of an entire city that combines tradition and modernity. In parks and squares, in museums and on the streets, Craiova residents, big and small, will certainly find unique activities and new experiences.
We will have many events, exhibitions, concerts, workshops, shows, an impressive Craiova Air Show, and after decades, for the first time, the hippodrome in „Romanescu” Park will come to life and host a horse-riding show-competition. Over 40 athletes from all over the country will participate in the Grand Prix of Craiova Municipality – the national show jumping stage, organized by SCM Craiova and the Romanian Equestrian Federation.
But the happiest celebrants will be, again this year, the children. Chess and fishing competitions, sports games, interactive workshops and shows for children are prepared, especially for them, at the Craiova Days. On Sunday morning, June 1, children of all ages are invited to theatrical games on the Colibri Theater esplanade, and in the afternoon, they are invited to participate in the biggest children's parade – Childhood Dream, which will start at 5:00 PM, from McDonald's – A.I. Cuza Street and will end at Mihai Viteazul Square. Street artists, costumed characters, children, youth and seniors will parade in a carnival of joy.
