The fort of Răcarii de Jos is located 100 m east from the railway station, 2 km from Jiu river, at the Scăieşti bridge.

A burial tomb, oriented approximately East-West, in which a 1-2 year old child was found, in dorsal decubitus, with the forearms placed on the pelvis and with his knees spread. The inventory consists of three whole pots, an iron knife and a bronze bead picturing an animal offering.
