Craiova started the winter holidays in Romania! The Christmas market, open to visitors
The Craiova Christmas Market was officially opened on Friday evening, when thousands of Craiova residents came to see and enjoy the way that a large part of the central area of Craiova was decorated and get into the atmosphere of the winter holidays.
More than 2 million LEDs light up Craiova since Friday evening, and the visual appearance is just one of the beautiful things that will surprise the visitors. The first hi-tech wheel in Romania is also present at the Craiova Christmas Fair, offering thrills and a panorama of the city for those who decide to have this experience. This year's wheel is located on the esplanade of the National Theater "Marin Sorescu", it has a capacity of 140 seats, is 40 meters high and has 200,000 LEDs, being made this year, in the Netherlands.
The Craiova Christmas market also means culinary experiences, so those who visit the city centre can also enjoy the goodies with a festive taste. The winter in Craiova promises to be a delicious one, being sprinkled with other products specific to the season, brought by the more than 70 merchants from our city and from the whole country.
Visitors to the fair can discover, in the areas of interest, the unique houses, specially created by plastic artists for this occasion. Also, in the "Mihai Viteazul" Square, they can also meet the Snow Queen, around whom the whole concept of this year's fair was thought. The Craiova Christmas Market, awarded twice at European level, takes place this year, until January 2, 2024, in "Mihai Viteazul" Square, "Buzești Brothers" Square, Doljana Zone and on the esplanade of the National Theater "Marin Sorescu", and the merchants’ boutiques are open, daily, between 12:00 and 22:00.
