#RediscoveringTheCity. 5 walking places for this spring

Now that the restrictions in Craiova prevent us from doing what we want, the only option in a long-awaited spring is the walk.

We have thought of a few destinations in the city for you, which you can enjoy by foot, alone or with loved ones.

The "Mihai Viteazul" Square

Around the "Mihai Viteazul" Square we have several attractions, such as the Administrative Palace, English Park, "William Shakespeare" Square near the National Theatre, the Art Museum, the statue of Mihai Viteazul on horseback or the Natural Sciences Section of the Oltenia Museum.

The "Nicolae Romanescu" Park

The weather outside is more than appropriate for a trip to the "Nicolae Romanescu" Park, an ideal destination for walking and spending time outdoors. Inside the park you can walk to the Summer Theater, to the Bibescu House, to the impressive lake in its centre or to the velodrome or the zoo. Last but not least, the recently rehabilitated Suspended Bridge is at your disposal for a walk with great sensations.

The Unirii Street

If you choose to walk to the "Romanescu" Park, we urge you to do so by choosing the route on Unirii Street, where you can admire the old houses, the Mântuleasa Church or the University House.

The Botanical Garden

Close to the city centre, the Botanical Garden has become, in recent years, an ideal attraction for nature lovers. Host to a multitude of plants and trees, the garden is both a place to study and for sports, given the tartan track for running arranged here. At the same time, here you can admire sculptures of artists who came to Craiova in different cultural residences.

The Historical Centre

Fun lovers have at their disposal the Historic Centre, where they can enjoy a delicious meal or a glass of something good. Moreover, the Historic Centre is an important point of attraction in terms of architecture. In the same area are the Church of St. Elijah, Lipscani Street, where passers-by can admire the old Lipscania, but also the Library "Aman" or the French Library "Omnia", both of great cultural and architectural importance.

Enjoy your walks! 😊
