The "Musical Craiova" Festival, now in its 51st edition, organized by Oltenia Philharmonic, cultural institution funded by Craiova City Hall, brings a lot of fantastic concerts to the stage in our city, for music lovers from Craiova and beyond!
The suite of events, which began on November 29, offers us, from today inclusive, four grandiose concerts that we will surely enjoy and that will delight our ears.
Thus, we have a choice between today's concert, from 19.00, which brings to the public's attention Robert Bașcoveanu, young Romanian pianist, laureate of the "Dinu Lipatti" International Piano Competition 2024, student of the "Marin Sorescu" High School of Arts from Craiova, appreciated for the sensitivity and precision of his interpretation. In the repertoire of the evening, the audience will be able to listen to works by Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Mozart and Franck.
Friday, December 6, also from 19:00, under the banner "The Perfect Classic" means Maximilian Haberstock (Germany), a talented conductor, a promising voice in European classical music, recognized for the depth of his vision at the lectern of symphony orchestras. Masterpieces by Haydn, Schubert and Mozart will delight the audience on the evening of St. Nicholas.
A week away, on December 13, from 19:00, the Puccini Centenary brings Messa di Gloria and "Symphonic Prelude" to the stage of the "Oltenia" Philharmonic, under the baton of Radu Zaharia, a Romanian conductor with a national career on the rise, specialized in the vocal-symphonic repertoire. At the same time, Remus Alăzăroae (tenor) and Lucian Onita (baritone), soloists with notable presences on opera stages in Romania and abroad, will appear in front of the audience.
At the end of the "Craiova Muzicală" Festival, on Tuesday, December 17, from 19:00, music lovers will enjoy a special concert, also on the occasion of the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the "Oltenia" Philharmonic. This time, Russel McGregor (Austria), conductor and violinist, concertmaster of the Johann Strauss Ensemble, renowned for his energetic approach and charisma on stage, will appear in front of the audience, together with Elisabeth Wimmer (soprano) and Thomas Weinhappel (baritone), Austrian soloists appreciated for their artistic sophistication. In the repertoire of the final evening, we will be able to listen to famous waltzes, polkas and overtures from the Viennese repertoire.
