#BrâncușiYear. Concert of old harmonies at the Art Museum

The eternal Brâncuși is celebrated once again in Craiova, through a high-profile concert, right on the esplanade of one of Craiova's most emblematic buildings, the Art Museum. This time, special guests are actress Miruna Ionescu, violinist Valentin Albeșteanu and Taraful de Oraș. In just a few days after the concert was announced, it became a sold-out, a sign that, in Craiova, the love for Brâncuși and for culture and art is enormous.
Under the aegis of “The Infinity of Harmonies of the Past – A Musical Story in the Spirit of Constantin Brâncuși’s Era”, the special guests mentioned above, accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra of the “Oltenia” Philharmonic of Craiova, invite you to step into a world with a vintage scent, the world of Brâncuși, which we can now relive here, at home. The concert, for which seats have already been taken, will take place on Friday, September 11, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Under the baton of conductor Tiberiu Dragoș Oprea, symphonic sounds will dress the pieces with a vintage scent – from passionate tangos and waltzes, to swing and café-concert music. The atmosphere will be completed by the “Maria Tănase” Folk Dance Section and a digital video projection supported by the “Jean Mihail” Palace, the sumptuous building that houses the Craiova Art Museum.
We mention that access to the event is free, with invitations being sold out in a very short time by Craiova residents who wanted to participate in this artistic royalty.
The event presented is organized by the Dolj County Council, through the Dolj County Center for Culture and Art, in partnership with the "Oltenia" Philharmonic and the Craiova Art Museum. During 2026 - the Year of Brâncuși - the Dolj County Council organized a series of events dedicated to the Oltenian sculptor who made the stone sing for humanity.
Don't forget, Brâncuși has his place of honor, here, in Craiova, where he studied for several years, and where the Art Museum has a cabinet dedicated to him, with six of his works. Also, in the vicinity of the Art Museum, the "Constantin Brâncuși" Cultural Center was built, a unique construction in the world, which tells the story of the artist who influenced modern sculpture and left a unique mark on the world of art.
Let's celebrate Brâncuși, day by day, here, at home!
