#BikesOut. At the beginning of June, we ride in Craiova again!
The pandemic stopped it temporarily, but not permanently. After taking a short break during the restrictions, the "Pedal in Bănie" MTB contest returns with a new edition. Participants will have at their disposal two routes, varied and challenging, with breathtaking landscapes, which will take the competitors to the paths in the forest of Bucovăț. The start will be on Saturday, June 4, and registrations can be made by accessing the link below.
E-bike section for electric bicycles
The start is scheduled at 10.00, on the esplanade of the Polyvalent Hall in Craiova, and the finish will be in Bucovăț. Competitors have at their disposal the two traditional routes - the short 25 km lap and the 55 km long lap. At the same time, the concept becomes even more unique because, for the first time, the organizers offer the possibility for electric bike owners to compete in the e-bike section, which will take place on the long route.
Online registrations are open until Tuesday, May 31, at 12.00 or until all available spots are sold out.
Designed to develop the competitive spirit, but also friendship and fun outdoors, through movement and sports, "Pedal in Bănie" takes place in Craiova since 2018 and is already a tradition. Through this event, the organizers want to promote the city of Craiova and the beauty of the surrounding areas.

In addition to the “Pedal in the Bank” competition, the county authorities also plan to build cycling routes, together with four localities near Craiova. These are Bucovăț, Breasta, Podari and Vârvor, whose local authorities are to identify the routes and establish the legal regime of the lands that will be crossed by bicycle lanes.
The aim is to create a network of tracks that link objectives of regional interest, such as the forest in Palilula village, the park in Breasta village or Ciutura lake, in the area of Vârvor locality. In this way, an increasingly attractive alternative for leisure will be offered.
