Balloons on the Băilești sky

"Who believes in flying, dominates the horizon", said the great poet and philosopher Lucian Blaga. Most likely, through this feeling offered by the sky show passed those who had the chance to fly, this weekend, with hot air balloons, at the first festival of this sort in Oltenia.

After the Oltenia Moto Fest, the festival of the Oltenian motorcyclists, that took place in July in Segarcea, in the Băilești area and there was another kind of festival, "Balloon Adventure". A joy even bigger because of the fact that, it is well known, such events invigorate the communities and bring them to the foreground. And who doesn't want a Dolj full of people eager to do something for the places in which they live?

Although the weather was not too friendly for the balloons, due to the fact that the wind was a bit strong, those who attended the event have been received with food, cold beer, workshops for the kids, souvenires, but also with a show offered by the kites raised high above the Cilieni Aerodrome. The second evening also had a dance round, with the Craioveans from the band No Antidote, but unfortunately, without flights from the balloons. That did not stop the people from dancing and feeling different, away from the city, from the noise, to another kind of event.

“Balloon Adventure” is the first hot air balloon festival in Oltenia, organized by the Romanian Association for Electronic Industry and Software Oltenia and the Romanian Airfield, with the support of the City Hall of Băilești, but also with sponsorships from companies such as Ruris and Azalis Gaz. The teams from the Romanian-British School, as well as from Fastrackids Craiova, took care of the children and gave them all sorts of activities. A first edition is a sign that something is wanted to be done in the community, and this sort of events are more than well received.

We can only hope that we will witness another edition, more interesting, more bidding and full of hot air balloons on the sky of Băilești.
