Hyperion, the miracle of Dolj on the rails
Hyperion has been an increasingly common name in Craiova in the recent years, but also all over Romania. It is the name of the first high-speed electric train in our country, built by Softronic company from Craiova.
Since 2014, since appearing on the tracks in Romania, Hyperion has had a growing popularity, given the conditions it offers, at ticket prices more accessible than the ones of ordinary trains. Beyond that, its exterior appearance is also extremely attractive, clearly distinguishing itself from the other trains.
Since entering the electric frame, things look and feel different: the compartments are modern, equipped with air conditioning, tables, coffee machines, but also with machines for snacks, sweets or refreshing beverages. A journey with Hyperion is not only an A-to-B road, but also a living experience that things can work normally, decently and politely.
Hyperion travels on the Craiova - Bucharest - Brașov routes and back and, during the warmer periods of the year, it also goes on the Craiova - Bucharest - Constanța route. Thus, the sea or mountain trips for tourists become simpler and easier to take.
Following a partnership with the "Aman" Library in Craiova, in Hyperion, the time spent on a journey flies easier, with travelers having libraries with books to read along the way. At the same time, you can connect your electronic equipment to the Wi-Fi networks available on the train and you can enjoy - we recommend using the headphones - a movie, some music or your favorite show. And if you run out of battery, you have the necessary plugs.
A journey by train should not be boring or uncomfortable, and this was demonstrated by Softronic. In Hyperion, you can also travel with your pet, the train being pet-friendly. The train also has bicycle places.
For a trip, tickets can be reserved on the website https://rezervari.softrans.ro/, where for access you only need an account that is created immediately. You can choose to pay for tickets either in the train or online, with the option of taking seats directly on the train, provided they are not already booked.
Each Softronic train running in Romania has four wagons. The current program includes two trains per day departing from Craiova to Brașov, both early in the morning and in the afternoon, same going for the Brașov – Craiova route. After the month of April, the travel program to Constanța will also take effect. The full schedule can be consulted on www.softrans.ro.
So, if you don't know how to get to Craiova, Hyperion is one of the best options: perfect and simple, like we make them here, in Oltenia.
